Dave and I went to San Diego for a date night/sleep over. What a great two days! We left Utah about 10:30 in the morning and landed about 1130. There is a bus that took us from the airport to the Sante Fe train & trolley station, where we hopped on a trolley that took us a block from our condo!
The condo was beautiful and has a rooftop courtyard where we watched the airplanes come in that night. We dropped our stuff off and took of for the Coaster train to take us to Oceanside to the beach and to see that town. We had 30 minutes to get there. Grabbed some lunch and took it with us. Ran to the trolley, but of course everything had to stop us. The first stop a wheelchair customer took along time getting off and then the light turned red. At the next stop a wheelchair customer took along time getting on and then the light turned red. We missed the train by a couple of minute.....aaarrrggg. So we sat outside at the train station and ate our lunch while a pigeon eyed our lunch :) It was a beautiful spot with palm trees and a fountain. How relaxing.
We finally got our train to Oceanside watching the ocean go by. In Oceanside we walked to the beach and took off our shoes and socks and walked about a mile down the beach with the water splashing around our feet.

We walked down the pier and watched some people fish and then headed back to the train, where we met some very interesting people. They were going to the Padres game and getting drunk on the way there because they said beer was too much money at the game.... go figure!
We went to a restaurant called Por Favor where they make the best chili Verde enchiladas I have ever had, and then back to the condo. The next day we made a trip to the Old Town where they have an original hacienda and cute shops set up. We only made it about half way around and had to go to the airport, so we are definitely coming back for that and the aircraft carrier Midway!!
