First Day at Sea

This morning we packed our to go on the cruise from Seattle, went to Pikes Market and got some friut (an gala apple and a nectarine for $3.00) and to the park to see if we could see the ship. It was slightly cooler today, but sunny and beautiful.

Back at the hotel we the boarded a bus and went to dock 50 and checked in and boarded our ship. Our room has a window... although the view is paritally blocked by the rigging for lifeboats...we can still see pretty good and it lets the sun in. Yes, it is small and yes you can brush you teeth and take a shower at the same time :). We passed the coastline with their white clabber homes dotted among the pinetrees sitting on the edges of inlets and cliffs dropping to the ocean. Of course we got the soda card, without it you get tap water & iced tea, and Dave determined to get his $28 dollars worth of soda and juices and after the first day, at $3 a drink, dave is 1/2 way there.

We watched the welcome abaord show, where the comedian joked about delta loosing his bags saying Delta means "don't expect luggage to arrive", I say he should have gone with jetbBlue :). Then we ate dinner in the dining room. We played a trivia game with 2 other couples and won.... a bottle of champane and a deck of cards... guess which one we got. Earlier in the evening we went out on deck and it was foggy and chilly. Tonight it is down right cold and the captian is blaring the fog horn every 5 minutes or so. Seas are a little choppy and the higher floors vibrate. Can't wait to see what it looks like in the morning.
