First Dive

Dave and I went to Hurricane Utah (it is pronounced hurr-i-can, don't offend them by saying hurr-i-cane) :) to do our first dive out! We went to Sand Hollow Reservoir, it was beautiful and hot out side, about 101, and the water was perfect temp for a dive.
Being newbies, we took 3 trips to haul all our gear from the parking lot to the red sandy shore, sweating and huffing the whole time.... dumb us.. tip of the day... put all your gear together and on at the car and then it is only one trip down to the lake and into the water.

Dive Utah was hosting the dive and had placed golf balls thru out the dive site, then were doing a give away. We finally got in the water!! I was kind of nervous to go down.. Dave held my hand and below we went. Vis was about 15 feet and not to bad. We followed ravines and found the obstacle course. There is a Cessna plane and a VW van but we didn't find them and then on our way out someone told us to just follow the pink rope.. that would have been nice to know before we were leaving!!!

We had a fun time and learned how to use our dive computers. Got in 2 dives and will go back to Sand Hollow, especially now that we know where to look for the plane and van!!

Wanna know why it is pronounced "Hurikin"? The British Saints settled there and that is how they pronounce Hurricane! At least that is how my friend that grew up there tells the story!
